Y-11 Lagonda Copper vs. Glossy Orange Question

Hello,
Can someone explain the difference between what is listed in the Yesteryear Book Third edition as
Glossy orange vs. Copper on the Woodgrain era Y-11 Lagonda?
The model on the left looks like copper to me, while the model on the right looks like a deep metallic red, not orange.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Bob

Like most of the "Woodgrain" era models, the shades of the body and the chassis vary considerably on the Lagonda, although the chassis not as much as the body. You can end up with a lot of these if you chase all the shade variances between the two extremes you show.

I am trying to identify the correct issue number for the model with the Maroon seats, which is only found with a "Copper" body according to the Yesteryear Book Third Edition. I have two, and both are in the colors of the model on the left. My problem is that I don't know what they mean by "Glossy Orange" which is the first iteration of the model.
This is the problem with the book not having color photos, and Alex's book is fantastic as there is the opportunity to see some color variants. Unfortunately the book does not continue into the Woodgrain era.

Some collectors referred to the one on the right as 'blood red' shade to differentiate and this shade appeared on late run models.

That's what I thought but according to the Yesteryear book the maroon interior model is only shown as being paired with a "Copper" body. I am thinking some clarification may be needed in the Yesteryear book. (!!!)
Thanks,
Bob

No surprise there! Some of the colour descriptions beggar belief. e.g. "dull light pea green" in the Simplex listing. It must be remembered that the books were mainly based on one individuals perception of colour, and In my opinion some of the "shades" were given individual issue status to bulk out the listings.

The 'dull light pea green' version of the Simplex is that - for some reason the paint on this model is completely flat, not gloss at all and very distinct. Not sure about light or dark though. I found some of the other colours a bit weird though - light cream, cream dirty cream etc etc. I had 2 Fyffes lorries, one had a cream cab roof and the other pure white and now both are bloody cream !

It does make me laugh when I see Y25 Renaults listed with white or cream roofs. It's just a reaction of the plastic to exposure to light. Many white plastic components can be so affected.
