Hi guys
Just joined the forum, as I have recently started to collect and resto/custom a few too.
I have already built a collection of around 600+ but looking to learn more about some of the models I have. Especially before I ruin them.
I have a youtube channel call matchbox garage and im just having a bit of fun at the moment

Welcome to the forum Rob.
Looked at your first 'Unboxing of Models' video and can see you have your work cut out regards restorations! Any work you do on the models, can you please post in here...viewforum.php?f=18 thanks.
Some of the questions you ask during that video were mostly answered by contribtors in the comments section but to clarify a few...
Yes the beech buggy is normal with the speckled paint and should have a chrome plated effect engine at the rear.
Yes the Rolls-Royce Phantom is a matchbox model.
Lesney was the parent company making and marketing the small 1/65ish metal models. Models with metal or plastic wheels up to and including 1969, were marketed as the 'Matchbox Series' and limited to 75 models in the range. In 1965, the models were becoming larger and more cars were appearing. The baseplates now had ''MATCHBOX'' SERIES displayed. During 1969, a new range of metal models fitted with low friction axles and wheels were marketed as Superfast models. Your nice blue MG 1100 is part of the superfast range.

Re: New guy from Essex
Thanks Gary - I am from Grays
Thanks Ghosthunter - I have 600+ cars now and quite overwhelming trying to learn everything so fast. I only started collecting this January and already filled 3 display cases and need more!
Im sure I will have lots of questions going forward.
I just made my first order today from model-supplies.co.uk for various windscreens/decals and hope they come up with the goods quick. I am currently resto/modifying 3 x Ferrari Berlinettas..
