Y8-3 Stutz prepros

Looks ordinary in a scruffy box, but the roof and seat fell out when it was removed from the box to reveal...........

No columns behind seat, and........

No reinforcing struts on the seat support. This is shown in The Collector's Guide as a "newer prepro casting". The baseplate is the normal type 2 with the larger steering box.

Then this. A bit sruffy but.....

This is the 1st type of prepro body on the type 1 chassis. Note the spigot sticking up in the seat location hole. This means the "normal" type of seat doesn't fit, only the example with the hollow locating pin. I'd never seen this type of seat before.

The top one was a freebie in a box of donated models. The others were obtained with help from a fellow collector. Not free though, sadly.
Really pleased to pop these in the cabinet.

thanks for sharing.....back to the cabinets we all go......again
this is why it is hard to part with any pre' 78 model :(
if certain parts are still installed correct you need a colonoscopy to have a looky lou..
in researching rw's... did find a link where someone had measured the innards of complete RW's with (dark) photos .
what tools are that small?

Bob is showing good examples of why collecting mass produced metal model cars, especially Models of Yesteryear, is so obsorbing because of the diversity of castings produced in a model's production life time.

Excellent additions Bob.

Thanks Bob. Not many interested in YY's here, but I'll keep posting for those that are.

Please do - I don’t collect Yesteryears but it’s always interesting to read your posts!
