I thought I'd done very well to spot this prepro Lamborghini in white:

But, of course, it's not - it's a very extreme example of fade, and started out hot pink!

Never mind - it wasn't expensive, and came with a few others, including this lighter metallic blue Iso Grifo.

WOW!
Sure would have fooled me too!
Thank you for sharing the underside photo. I would not have believed the hot pink could fade to such a degree.
Live and learn, as they say.

I'm a firm believer in what I term speculative bidding. Mostly you're wasting your money but, every now and again,
it all pays off.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

When I saw the first pic about the Lambo, I think it is a faded yellow, but the rear wheel arche....
The mid blue Iso Grifo is very nice.
Thanks Glenn, very intresting!
Cheers, Peter

Never a truer word in my book..

yes, I agree. Some of my best finds have come this way, though I also have a 26b Foden cement mixer with a green-painted barrel (looked like it might be grey), a purple Cadillac that looked green in the poorly-exposed picture, and a Ford GT that does indeed have silver wheels, but only because they'd been painted. To balance that I'd count my first 14c Lomas with roof cross and black wheels: I could see the cross but not the wheels in the picture, and it also came with a completely unexpected 62b Commer Rentaset with fine grey plastic wheels.
That Karrier refuse lorry really is exceptional - I must keep looking!

I think this speculative lot worked out okay for me about 6 months ago - the grey barrel on the Foden mixer at the back was partly missing/damaged but was mostly still there and it was nice to get the early casting in pale orange.
The grey Scammell tipper although missing the snow plough is the code one with the smaller wheels and the repainted Land Rover fire truck is code 1 without the rear brace
Overall IMHO not a bad value lot for £31 plus postage
