This is almost a real-life Matchbox sighting. (Well, TV sighting).
On the North American History channel reality show American Restoration proprietor Rick Dale got presented with a Lambretta scooter to restore. He claimed not to be able to recognize it.
Here's another account of the incident.

I'd thought perhaps Rick deserved to be mailed a 36b, but as I read more details, I think perhaps not.

One comment from the account you linked: "...Those shows have completely ****ed the entire estate sale/auction scene of the real world.
Now everyone thinks their garbage is pure gold..."
True, that. They did it to me in my (house) remodeling business too. A glut of "DIY" shows, with a bunch of B.S. about how cheap and easy it is to remodel, or buy and "flip" a house for profit. Everyone's a freaking expert now...

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.
