Polar vortex pummeling the U.S.
Polar vortex pummeling the U.S.
Many parts of the United States are currently dealing with severe winter conditions. Weather forecasters say temperatures in southeast Michigan are the coldest they've been in 25 years. Highs were below 0, with wind chills nearing -30 (those temperatures are using the Fahrenheit scale). I had to have a scarf, gloves, and a hat on during part of my drive to work. Some of my co-workers in southwest Michigan were either working from home or snowed in. This is probably the worst cold I, personally, have experienced in almost 20 years.
I hope that the members of this board, and their loved ones, are making it through this polar vortex unscathed.

I wish I had that luxury! However, if I did that, I'd be taking a day off without pay.MatchboxFreak wrote:Sounds like a day to stay home and stay next to the radiator with the Matchboxes!

I can say we have it quite that bad in UK but the other night I was out late when I got back to my car it was frozen solid and I could'nt get in the front doors.I had no deicer with me so pryed a back door open and reached in and started the engine [no way of climbing over]and then sat at an out side dining table in the dark like an idiot for ten mins while the car slowly de frosted itself...No fun with COPD I can tell you..Stay safe.

The climate has been changing ever since the beginning of the earth. On Mount Washington, N.H. the wind chill this morning was reported at -76F (-60C).
Re: Polar vortex pummeling the U.S.
Yesterday it was -6 with a wind chill of -26 degrees. It was -7 at our house this morning, with a high of 8 today, but Sunday they say 48 for high. Just another Ohio winter.
