Polar vortex pummeling the U.S.

Post by Squid »

Many parts of the United States are currently dealing with severe winter conditions. Weather forecasters say temperatures in southeast Michigan are the coldest they've been in 25 years. Highs were below 0, with wind chills nearing -30 (those temperatures are using the Fahrenheit scale). I had to have a scarf, gloves, and a hat on during part of my drive to work. Some of my co-workers in southwest Michigan were either working from home or snowed in. This is probably the worst cold I, personally, have experienced in almost 20 years.

I hope that the members of this board, and their loved ones, are making it through this polar vortex unscathed.

I wish I had that luxury! However, if I did that, I'd be taking a day off without pay.

The climate has been changing ever since the beginning of the earth. On Mount Washington, N.H. the wind chill this morning was reported at -76F (-60C).

Yesterday it was -6 with a wind chill of -26 degrees. It was -7 at our house this morning, with a high of 8 today, but Sunday they say 48 for high. Just another Ohio winter.
