Are these wheels different or is it just my imagination?

On first glance, the wheel on the right looks to have flash on it...but the rim might also have a little bit of a taper to it. This is one for the Yesteryear experts to offer opinions more qualified than mine.

Take the tyres off and measure across the width of the rim. Thin and thicker rims exist.

Measuring the rims should sort it out. The spokes on the right seem a little thicker to me (if you compare the gaps between them).

there are large and small wheels on this model as well as several others - 11.5mm or 13 mm. These look to be different wheels as said with thicker rims and spokes.

Might be just a worn mould or thicker plating. This may account for the appearance that the inner surface of the wheel rim is running at an angle to the rim which is what Bob is referring to, rather than the width of the wheel rim (not the wheel) itself.

Here is a diagram of the two 'Known' metal wheel rim widths.

Just as my diagram...
NARROW rim, the darker wheel on the left in the above three pictures.
WIDE rim, the bright wheel on the right in the three pictures above.
