Here's a few more photos, a number 47b Commer Ice Cream Van. I only have some before and after images of this one, unfortunately, since I did this one before I considered doing a website... I didn't shoot any during the restoration. Sorry about the resize height, I'll get it right next time. First, a few "before" photos...
Here's a look at the baseplate. I have a few hundred 2-56 button head allen screws that I use to secure the baseplate. These can be removed for later cleaning or restoration if needed, and it looks similar to a rivet but clearly identifies the model as NON-ORIGINAL.
... and here's what it looks like now. The skylight has a crack in it, which I'd like to replace someday. I prefer to make my own decals, but these were "store bought," since at the time I didn't have a good example with decals that I could scan and correct in Photoshop. Paint color is Krylon from a rattle can. Close, but not an exact match.
I also find it interesting that I get better images using my phone. The "before" images were taken with a Nikon D5300 with a Tamron 18-200 zoom, while the "after" photos are shot with my S6 smartphone. Both were shot outside, in indirect sunlight. I think it's the smaller sensor size that give me better depth of field and closeups, though the phone is a pain in the rear to manipulate. Here's a look at the baseplate.
