Nice photograph clearly showing the RW/SF colour difference.
I find it odd that RW/SF colour crossovers are unknown.

I think
John's pictures may show the later gold colour on a regular wheel Opel. I think I have one too - I'll add a picture later, as well as a casting variation that I don't think has been noted before.

Again George, 36a is an Austin so what does the 36a mean against your Opel or am I missing something!

Gee must I explain, 36c is a Regular wheel, and 36a is a Superfast wheel models

you did know that.

My 5 regular wheel models, and my 2 Superfast models. In the hand the colours of the regular one only different shades.

Contributions to date (including john's line-up) have been, at best, inconclusive on this score.
It wouldn't surprise me if crossovers do exist but, having just had a look at the Matchbox Opel Diplomat listings on Ebay, the variability in the photographs' colour balance is such that spotting them would be the Devil's own job.

I agree. I’m going to have to get a Superfast version of my own to see the difference. It’s actually quite easy to take out colour casts in photo editing software if pictures are taken against a neutral background. I use A3 white paper.
