Don't forget that there is a second Major Pack/King Size crossover, with a Major Pack cab baseplate and a King Size trailer.

Both of those are Major Packs rather than King Size.

Same model just a change of name as they were thought to be more of a Kingsize model than the original Major scale.

Just added another variation that was mentioned by Idris: variation #3 - Major Pack cab with King Size Trailer. I overlooked it as it was in a box that had the M8 on the front, and then I noticed K8 on the sides.
I took a picture of it as I found it. The amazing thing was that the model had a Major Pack cab & a King Size trailer.

One of my favourites! There are more pictures of the casting differences here

It’s interesting that you’ve illustrated the two different pivot areas on the yellow transporter, because I have them both on the orange version. I would have expected the yellow version only to have the second type. Something else to look for!

I don’t think you’ve listed the yellow version with orange hubs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one but I know they’ve been reported. Perhaps someone could add a picture?

Hello Charlie, Hugh, Mick, Glenn and all,

Great line-up Charlie with excellent photos and nice detail again.

On the rear of the transporter the tab that holds the ramp on the later models they introduced three rib braces to strengthen the tab.

Attached are two views of tabs.

Here are a couple of photos, one giving an idea of just how many models must have been made based on just how much the ejector pin has worn to produce the very proud ejector rings.
In that photo I have highlighted a brace on the cross-member that you might like to check on your models.

As you would expect on all the M8 and K8 Guy the plastic glazing is moulded with MP 8 on the component for the life of the model.
I think this window unit would have been one of their most made plastics outside the 1-75 range.

Another small variation is the use of either an alloy or chrome plated rivet connecting trailer to tractor unit.
