Was anyone else watching the two Arals on Ebay this afternoon?
One of them not only had the Aral logos on the tank sides, but the Aral text across the back (see photograph) and, although the former has been noted before, I think the latter is unusual.

I saw them and noticed that one looked unusual but decided that (a) I don’t know enough about Arals to be sure and (b) they were too risky without a base picture. I also don’t like auctions where the bidders’ identity is concealed, but perhaps that’s a bad reason not to bid.

This seller has had a few interesting lots over recent weeks. I was watching this one because of the odd orange-yellow colour on the Pointer tipper, but decided that it’s probably a repaint, though looking again I’m not so sure. Someone may have a bargain.

I agree. With the "anonymisation" of buyers' identities on Ebay, the use of private listings becomes even more indefensible and suspicious. Furthermore, we're dealing with labels here, which are easy to transfer between models if you know how (not to mention all the reproductions which are now available).

Anything's possible but I'd be tempted to say that it's most likely an issue with the colour balance of the photographs.

I think that’s part of it (the Douglas tipper looks far too red) but the colour does look very similar to the 47c DAF tipper body in the same picture. A base picture would have helped.
