Chad Valley Wee-kin toys restoration.

Post by misterpop »

Here is one I have been looking to restore for ages and this is how I like to buy them in.No arguments as to whether it should be stripped or not I think...Progress to be shown over three days.

Thank you for sharing Mr Pop.
I look forward to seeing your project progress!
For those of us not familiar with the Wee Kin Line, can you include a scale figure so we get an idea of the size of this Humber Super Snipe?
Thank you
Kurt
Happy hunting!

Do you know what the original colour was?

I have 2 of these Humber Super Snipe packed away somewhere - one is light metallic blue and the other light metallic green :) :)

Do you any of the Humber Hawk models?

Thanks for showing :D

This is the only one I have ever had and it was stripped before and repainted with what looked like a yard brush..I nearly bought a metalic light red one at Bolton fair but it was out of my price range at £45 for a restoration project..Vectis have sold a few over the years and there are plenty of pictures of past sales on there site. I have a colour in mind for mine but all will be revealed in due course.

Oh Looks to be bang on 1/43 scale and the hole which was filled in has been opened up so any future custodian may repair the mechanism..

Thank you for that,..Its a superb casting for its time ,the car is a 1950 so Chad Valley where well up with Dinky in the reality stakes..The wheels are Spot-On by the way look good eh? Had to replace the Dinky ones from the front ,plus the rears had those tyres with a groove like some Yesteryears. Is that right?
