Found this listing tonight - is this the real deal ?
To me the paint looks too bright, the area around the rivets not quite correct and some of the axle ends appear too shiny

The condition of the axles do not match the rest of the model, far too much rust on them for me and I do not like the front rivet. Too full of undisturbed paint!!

I agree that the apparent scoring around the front rivet and the dark ring around the jib rivet do look a little bit odd.
I was also going to add that both the body and jib appear to be the correct casting but, having double-checked
Nick's catalogue page for this model, I see that there are plenty of silver-bodied variations with the correct castings, so that is no guarantee of authenticity.

Actually, mine is like that too, but the rivet is finished in a different way and is slightly proud of the baseplate (as you would expect) whereas the one in question appears to be almost flush.
I see that the seller is 'Jaskelrod'. We have a Member of that name (although he hasn't logged on since 2015). Furthermore, that VBD Jaskelrod seems to have been a trusted friend of Dick's. Given that it is such an unusual name, it seems likely that both Jaskelrods are one and the same person. If that is indeed so, then Dick's friendship with the person concerned would incline me to give this model (or, at the very least, the seller) the benefit of any doubt.

Rust on axles is pretty normal where I live. You can have a nice mint model and the axles can look just like the ones in the listing photo.
As to opinions on this particular model, It looks OK.

Jaskelrod also stands at +6 in voting for VBD Trusted Seller status (
here).

I only have the red crane version and the rivets are proud of the baseplate(I do not have any cranes with those rivets), axle ends do look a bit to shiny. Also the paint wear to the letters on the baseplate seems to be a bit strange considering how good the model is.
I seem to remember Jaskelrod being involved in a minty 6B Euclid with grey plastic wheels(but that could just be my memory again and I am not sure why).

Well done John you have a good memory, I am afraid personally for me the old post tells a story and I would have to keep clear of this model.

Hang on! Jaskelrod's the victim not the perpetrator in that thread.
