Base: Light red, red, dark red, fluorescent red, lt.yellow, yellow, dk.yellow or unpainted.
Base legend: K-13 or K-13/20.
Wheels: Four or five spoke star.
Axle cover: Black, blue or white.
Windows: Clear or blue tint.
Interior: White.
Building: Orange, yellow or dark yellow.
Building holder: Red or dark red.

Nice article. One of my favorite models. I did not know there were so many base variations.

Hello Charlie,

Another nice listing and very colourful photo display.

I can see 4 blue doors on the buildings in amongst your fleet but I am guessing you have a red one somewhere. Here is a pic of mine with unpainted base that comes with red doors for the building.
The pocket catalogues show the building doors in either yellow or blue.

What I find interesting is there only being two codes showing the use of base plates with just K13 cast as apposed to K13/K20 cast base plates.

Are there any other differences with the pre-pro apart from base colour of light red please?

Hi Bert,
Thanks for the additional info. I have revised the post to include the base type; found 2 models with K-13 only. Checked the doors and all I could see was blue.
I do not see anything special on the prepro accept the light red base color. Those pocket or dealer catalogs do show some nice pictures of prepros especially
during the late '60s and early '70s.

I also have black grill and baseplate on the metallic green and also one with blue rear springs.

Thank you for that info, my one is the same as yours.
I do not have any with the blue plastic so thats one I will look out for.
I do have a poor condition Green model with yellow interior with just K20 on the base and also a K13 only base in Red.

Since I've been collecting these (which isn't long) I found a yellow interior just a couple of weeks ago on a white K34 (blue roof / clear windows) so would it seem that the odd colour interiors were not just a one off production glitch .... or would it indicate the last of the K20 and the first of the K34 ??

I do not have any with the blue plastic so thats one I will look out for.

There was a rough one on eBay a few weeks ago with blue springs for £10 plus post and a chap on Chesterfield Flea Market (Thursdays only) has an even rougher example for £2. They do crop up occasionally and seem (to me) to be more common than the white springs. I've only ever seen the blue springs though on unpainted baseplate examples.
