Here is some of my Racing Minis, unfortunately it is not one of my favourite models.

I think it was such a shame that Matchbox decided to revise the casting and remove the door hinges that you occasionally see on some prepro versions. As a result the model lost a lot of the original mini look that you would expect from a matchbox model car.

When you consider the amazing Minis that Dinky & Corgi were producing a few years earlier (albiet to a different scale), it was disappointing to see Matchbox not putting as much effort into producing a more detailed version of this British icon.

cheers

I don't have too many Racing Minis either.

Silver-grey painted bases with green and orange outline labels: -

Shades of green on the label outline. The labels on the later, red car with centre-cut wheels are clearly from a different run than the original 1971 issues.

'G' boxes without the 'TM' marks are hard to find, both with and without 'NEW' to the end flaps.

I think that the Fire Pumper is alone in having more box variations than models to put into them (not counting the pre-pro with detailed door casting).
