mercedes truck 1 red color rear brace or not

As we are discussion over the Mercedes truck regular I found the difference on the red Mercedes truck also the difference that one has no brace above the rear mudguard and another has a brace. Don't not know if it's discussed here in the past. No rear brace 1978 on the base, no 1978 on the base with brace.

Yes, this has been discussed before.

When the casting was modified in 1978, the addition of the date on the base was the most obvious change, but not the only one. The shapes of the cab doors were changed, the recesses on the front bumper were replaced by raised ribs, and the rear mudguards were made thicker which caused the removal of the braces above them.

As far as I know, all of this happened at the same time. I am not aware of any interim variations with some but not all of these changes in place.
