Spotted this when traveling around the North Island on my holidays. Parked outside The Island Liquor outlet in Papamoa on the east coast... guess that accounts for the signage on the rear! :lol: As far as I can see the bonnet reference is somwhere in Antarctica?

Seems the were original fitted with a Meadows 10.35 litre petrol engine

But Ghosty, you will be pleased to know that apparently some have been fitted with a Rolls Royce diesel

Possibly the Rolls-Royce C8SFL 16.2 litre 8-cylinder supercharged diesel engine 333 hp
which was used in the Thornycroft Mighty Antar tank transporter

Indeed they were. This one was generating quietly at an event I attended last summer.
