Some great remodelling Joe and shows what can be done with a bit of imagination. Why on Earth was this not done at Lesney. The increase in tooling for a few extra componenets must surely have been reimbursed by strong sales of the models!

I think you should have been on their model development team :D

I was a little busy during that time frame. They told me I was helping a small democratic nation and fighting against the world wide spread of communism. What it really was turned out to be a huge and horrific waste of human life, a terrible waste of machines and resources as well as a gigantic financial cost.  I still get angry and upset when I think about it.  Designing toys would have been a far better job (not that I had any choice about it at the time).
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
