Best material to replace a box'es worn blister

Post by Thepowerofdreams »

Hallo,
what's the best material to replace the blister foil of an old Corgi Toys box?
Any experience?
Thanks in advance

Box windows are pretty thin, and it's difficult to find similar material new in my experience. If I need to do this, I usually buy up cheap common models (boxed YY's from the '80's) for 1GBP or less say, and strip the windows out of them for reuse. The unboxed models usually sell on for the same money, so no real cost. Wouldn't work for the larger boxes like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang obviously.

I agree with Bob, this stuff is difficult to come by. The nearest I know of can be sourced from those old boot sale photo albums where you peel back the clear film, place your photos and put the film back. This clear film may be big enough for something like Chitty Bang Bang sized boxes. These do turn up on ebay as well as car boot sales/charity shops etc.

For any Kingsize window boxes that need repairs I've use the plastic from laminating sets.
Its a bit thicker than the original but does the job.
