I have no idea, I can't see any markings. I'm guessing from the 60's. I like it and it was cheap!

I am guessing it is from American toy Cowboy outfit, as you can buy smaller, similar versions as pin badges or the same badge fitted into an ID wallet (below), for less than $30 off ebay.

Being a toy it will be deemed 'Generic' so holds no Authority or power, as I undrstand toy Sherif badges have been used in unscrupulous ways...
