Hi :
Has by chance seen an old Lledo brand ... Odell left the Matchbox in 1973 ... The story generally says that he started Lledo in 1983 ... However, Lledo is on the Super Kings K-3, Mod Tractor from 1973 --- There is Lledo name, on the engine's top covers --- That is, Odell, in fact, started Lledo in 1973 or earlier, but produced parts for Matchbox. A way to get rid of material lack and labor conflicts maybe?

Lledo (which is Odell spelled backwards) was founded in 1982 and put out it's first toy in 1983 ... the above pictured model is 100% Matchbox IIRC. If my dates are slightly off, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Excuse me --- what does the IIRC mean ? --- I have not bought the model especially, but bought a bunch of cars a few years ago. It's quite accidental I saw that Lledo was on the engine to day --- on both sides of the model. Before anyone begins to claim I'm sending pictures of cheating models (which IIRC may refer to ?), it will be positive first to investigate the model in own collection before answering the question with indifference. Photo -- tractor and trailer, is from -- BAMCA data....

Not everyone is familiar with these lazy abbreviations, especially those for whom English is not their native language. Nearly as bad as text speak, m8.

ok --- thanks -- Then the answer was just a repeat of what I had written. I can try to change the question. Could it be, that Odell, left Matchbox in 1972/73 to start up Lledo? not as a toy manufacturer, but as a manufacturer of parts for Matchbox ? and others maybe ? I have never seen questions about the, Lledo, name on the tractor and I wonder why ? Nor did I see the name, Lledo, on other Matchbox models, but I have to look at my very big collection again.

Sorry - My name is -- Hans -- and I'm Danish ... And I'll try not to write Danish here :D

This has come up earlier. The Stingaroo chopper's engine is also marked with LIEDO. I guess Mr Odell just wanted to leave his tag on some of his works like a graffiti artist. ;)

Ok two toys then... NO ! -- Odell stops he's daily work at Matchbox in 1973 --- And his interest area was veteran cars. I do not think he has been so involved in Super Kings .. They are too clumsy.

Leaving your name, a nickname or the initials of your name on model car components is a popular past time for these companies. I think there are a number of models within the Lesney product line with tool makers initials placed on number plates etc.

then it is random that it is LLEDO, and thus has nothing to do with Odell. But very funny that it is the same initials .. As the chopper with ANGUS on the engine .. but it could be interesting to know what LLEDO means in this context
