15a yellow mover

Hey everyone, I came on a few years ago and shared some pictures of my grandfather's collection that was left to me. It seemed like he put together a nice collection. I never sold any except maybe one truck someone was looking for and I'm not planning on selling any now. We have 2 boys; 4 and 18 months and they love (looking at) things. I love that they are safe behind plexiglass haha. But for me it will be cool for them to get them in 30 years or whatever and some will be closing in on 100 years old and the collection was put together by their great grandfather.

One that kept coming up was my yellow prime mover and I'm curious if that is still a popular model? And if I was to put that one on eBay what might it go for? I'm not looking for an exact number (unless you are making me an offer) but a ballpark figure.

My pictures look huge, I'm sure there is a place to fix that? I'm just posting from my iPhone.

In the end this little thing clearly doesn't take up much space but if the price is right...I do have a others that could fill its spot.

I added a picture of the case which has most of the cars, and then I have a box full of the boxes.

Thanks for the thoughts. I think someone mentioned collecting current matchbox for my kids and we are doing a great job of that, we probably have 200, some they play with, some are still in the packages. Then they can add those to this collection.

Wow those are huge. Sorry. I saw a post about resizing pictures but it was working from a computer. If anyone can help, I will repost them.

Those yellow prime movers are very rare and desirable, since yours is in really good condition with box, I dont know maybe somewhere between 200-300$? I dont know Ive only seen a few come up on ebay in the years of collecting. I wouldn't sell it its a really cool piece to have!

I was offered one a few years ago in a played with condition... should have bought it but didn't have $400 in my pocket at the time. I believe these have gone for in the region of $2000 to $3000 in the box.

Some of these rare colour items go for BIG money.. I remember a bunch of us watching an auction on ebay for a brown 30b Magirus Crane - we were astounded it went for over US$10,000!

Thank you all for the comments! Yeah it is a fun collection and it was good to get them unwrapped so our boys can stare at them. I have duplicates of a few of the newer super fast ones so they play with those and like to hold them up to the glass and compare.
It’s interesting the range of guesses on the yellow one.
Eric, I’m not sure what you are basing your info on but my grandfather was not in the counterfeit matchbox trade back in the ‘60s/‘70s. He bought them and held onto a majority of the boxes, including that one. It is amazing though to picture him collecting because he has some old catalogs and books on the different models and years. It was a very different time when you didn’t have the internet to track down information. Pretty cool. (I’m waiting for Eric to message me to say he will give me $12 to take the “fake” car off my hands because he really likes yellow.)

Anyway, I’m glad some of you enjoyed looking through them. I have to flip a couple over and add a few that aren’t in the case and I’m thinking of painting the case white but we will see. The case was made probably 30 years ago by my grandfathers friend. It weighs 100lbs or more, which isn’t that big of a deal because I don’t move it. But the plexiglass only slides out from the bottom so I have to prop the case up on an angle high enough to slide it out. It’s quite the project. But in the end probably better off so they are left alone. They had all been individually wrapped in tissue and placed back in their spot and had been like that for 10, maybe 15 years. It was like Christmas unwrapping them all.
