Hi All,
I have long been thinking about getting the website updated but to be honest, there is just far too much for one person to do,
So would anyone else be interested in helping me to update it.
If I get a positive response then l will set to work on a tutorial page, it is not too technical either so after doing your first page or two it really is easy.
Sadly my laptop has died so I can't access the site for the moment so any modified pages may have to wait a few weeks before being put online,
Cheers.

Re: Updating the website,
Nick, while my own spare time is very limited, I would be very happy to help out where I can. The only drawback for me at the moment is I am on a mobile dongle for my internet so I do suffer from dropouts with no signal at times. In fact I have only just got here after most of today without internet.

Re: Updating the website,
I feel just like the time when I had spent the whole afternoon searching for my circlip pliers that I had used that very morning, only to find them in my pocket.
Here's what I came up with.
Go to the web page you want to change. i.e. 4d
Click view source
Click edit....select all
Click edit....copy (the whole of the html code)
Now go over to the forum
Start a new topic and name it 4d,
Paste the html code into the text box and you should have an editable copy of the 4d page, you can make whatever changes to the text and see what the modified page looks like by clicking on the preview button, when you are happy with your alterations just click submit,
So now your work can be seen by all and edited by all, if no one wants to alter it further or maybe points out a mistake, say, for a week or so then the subject name can be changed to "4d completed" to mark it out as ready for uploading.
I upload the modified page and were all done. Simples.
I guess we need a new forum for this so we can keep track of what is being worked on,
Play with the idea for a few days and see if you think this is workable.
Cheers

Re: Updating the website,
Hi Pat, I know there are plenty of people that would like to have the ability to update my site, there's just too much for me to do on my own so, by using the method explained in my last post, I hope to give them the chance to be part of the VBD.
Now anyone with a basic knowledge of html can alter any page on the site, be it to add pictures, alter spelling, add or rewrite text, no rules, sky's the limit.
I could alsò upload to the forum the blank "skeletons" pages that i use to to make new pages with, more on that tomorrow.

Re: Updating the website,
Can one of the admins start a new forum room for this topic, I can't get logged in as an admin due to my near dead laptop and the crappy marina WiFi .
