9c Merryweather Marquis Fire Engine
9c Merryweather Marquis Fire Engine
The NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition) has such a confusing listing that it is impossible to link the entries to Nick's variations table. However, there are three references to small KBPW, one with a 17-rung silver ladder, one with a 17-rung gold ladder, and one with an 18-rung silver example. I suspect this represents a mislabelling of the 10 x 45 BPW, but that does not explain the 17-rung silver entry. Can any Member clarify?
None of the AIM's “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), Stannard, Houghton, or Leake ("Concise Catalogue of 75 Series Matchbox Toys by Lesney" (4th edition, reprinted 2006)) lists any variation not already catalogued by Nick.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.

Re: 9c Merryweather Marquis Fire Engine
The variation with dome head crimped axis is quite rare. I have two models with different silver trim:
a) full front & three areas at rear
b) full front & rear hose connectors

It's probably illogical but the variation with BPW ø10x24 and 17-rung silver ladder existsIdris wrote: However, there are three references to small KBPW, one with a 17-rung silver ladder, one with a 17-rung gold ladder, and one with an 18-rung silver example. Re: 9c Merryweather Marquis Fire Engine
I also have a crimped axle Marquis with full silver on the front but on the back only the central hose connectors are in silver (not the two lower areas). I think it's the darker red colour.
