G-6 Gift Set...

Post by toysnz »

I have been given an early G-6 Gift Set (not yet photographed) with a VERY tired and torn outer sleeve. I checked to see if repro boxes for this gift set are available but cannot find any (I'd rather not shell out for repro box anyway as I want to keep the existing box intact and with the models). This post is to see if anyone has scans (or can take some) of a good quality box sleeve so I can print a simple paper cover to wrap around the original box so it displays better than the torn and badly sellotaped (old) sleeve I have with the set. I would need front, sides and rear of the sleeve as it will sit in a mirror backed cabinet. There is nothing really wrong with the inner box that houses the models.

Can anyone help? - or point me to a source of a repro box (as a last resort). :)

Hello Ian,

I think it is a good idea to post a picture of your box before asking free scans of the real thing from people who paid a lot for the real stuf.
Sorry to say this.

I have many original displays and people often ask for scans (which I don't supply ) as this helps the fakers.

A fair enough comment Marcel - I'll post a photo asap - my original message was sent while I was at work and I don't have a camera there....

BTW - as you will see when my photos go up, this is the "real stuff" - just really scrappy!

Given Marcel's comments (which I agree with 100%), I would recommend than any images of a clean box sleeve are sent via e-mail rather than posted in this thread.

I agree - and this was my original intention - that they be emailed to me so I can print them on a bit of paper and wrap that around my scrappy box so that It displays better.

Photos as promised.... as you can see the box has had several tears including a large long one on a diagonal right across one end and the former owner (who gave me the set) has sellotaped it many years ago... since then the box has been damp and actually looks worse in the hand than in the photos (a positive effect of the flash unit I think)
