Corgi Major Priestman Luffing Cub Shovel

Post by MatchboxFreak »

Recently picked up this early casting of a Priestman Luffing Cub Shovel. First one I've ever seen.

The white string is a replacement.

Hi Kurt.

You say this is an early casting, what makes it early as I don't know this model so would be interested to find out.

Hello Goastie,
I don't know the Corgi line well either but I do like them for their fine detail and well constructed moving parts.

On line resources say the early casting of the Priestman Shovel are recognized by three features:
1. The style of the hoisting knob located on the right side (picture 1 of the original posting)
2. The presence of the locking lever located on the lower right side( just above the front Roller (also on picture 1 of the original posting)
3. The lock washer used to secure the rotating cab body to the base plate.

I will Look for that on line resource again and add a link to this thread for a better description and comparative photos.
Happy hunting!

Not sure if there are any issues with posting a link to a different website.
Please remove this post if there are concerns.
Thank you
Kurt.

Provided the different website does not contain material which other Members might find offensive (e.g. racist, pornographic, discriminatory, Bulgarian Matchbox), it is not an issue.

Thank's Kurt.

I know that site and have visited it many times. I have never experienced any offensive material popping up so I think we are very safe with this one. I think we already have it in the reference area of useful websites, if not it can go there.
