I hate the ebay Global Shipping Program so much. At first waiting for an item they tell me can't be shipped as my address is incorrect, yet same address i have used for many years. Now I get get a msg saying I wont get my item as it didn't clear customs, what the.........?
Very expensive, time consuming and nothing to show for it.

If you have not got the item, presumably it will go back to the sender. Try and get in contact with the sender outside of ebay and arrange something with them regards getting the item.
Once you have the item in your posession, forward a very serious complaint to ebay about the service you was given (or not given as the case may be).
If you rub them up the wrong way you will be banned from using ebay for a while, but no great loss within the bigger picture as I see it, good luck with trying to get your item.

it just makes it all too hard. If the whole processed failed within a few days that would be different but I've been looking forward to getting this item for over a month now.
I wish I was mega rich and powerful and could "destroy" such pathetic organisations

''mega rich'' could be handy, no doubt about that, but the pen is mightier than the sword so a few well chosen words directed at ebay could work wonders. It clearly was their fault if they misread the address. I am sure you can prove the address you have used in the past is the exact same address you have used for the undelivered item, so really a bit of pressure towards them is worth a try.

Totally agree - I am reluctant any seller that uses it.
On the 2 occasions where I was lucky to win a 'bargain' item but had to use GSP I put negative stars in the shipping cost feedback stars.
Only used because even with the expensive shipping the total cost was worth it.
From what I can see of the process - the seller packs and then sends to a central distributor (Pitney Bowes) who then sends it on.
The ebay label says:
pitney bowes - Global Ecommerce Resealed by the Global Shipping Program.
It's a con - all they appear to do is put their label on the seller's box - no repackaging at all.
