I've been asked to add (eventually!) a Crescent Toys vehicles section to my website Nicholas Martin Diecast (diecastvintagetoys.co.uk) and this is a query item. I may have missed something along the way but I don't know where to place it. Occasionally included in auctions, some attribute it to Crescent but inside only 'Made in England' is cast under the bonnet, no maker's name. It is based apparently on the Austin A40 Devon manufactured from 1947-52 which helps to date the model. Red is the only colour I've ever seen. Was it part of some of the Crescent Garage Sets?

Hello Nicholas, I think it was made by Betal, there's a link to a recent thread here:

Thanks, John, that's the answer. I didn't spot Nick's query last year. Betal made a decent job of the casting but not so hot on design. I agree that it is trying to represent an Austin Devon! Many thanks, Nicholas.
