Corgi 471 "Joe's diner" vs. "patates frites"

Post by Thepowerofdreams »

Hello,
I got a 471 smith*s karrier van snack bar car with it's side flap missing.
How can one distinguish whether it's the regular Joe's diner or the Belgium export model (under the condition of the missing flap)?
Thanks in advance

With the flap missing there's no difference, so you can claim it's the rare version! :D

You'd expect the front sign to be different, but it says Snack Bar on both versions.

When looking at the various pictures you can find in the net, as far as it concerns the Joe's interior - it appears to me that the accessories like the cashbox in the rear and what might be a coffee machine in the front are obviously existing in different colour tones. (kind of bronze instead of silver and red)
Someone has a clue? (not the distinctive feature?)

I've always thought the Patates Frites version is so easy to forge that I've never spent my hard earned cash buying one.

When I was growing up, the Joe's diner model played an important part in my little World, so pleased it is one model I have managed to re-aquire.

If you order your chips with ketchup and the vendor gives you a weird glance, it's the Belgian version.
If you order them with mayonnaise and the vendor gives you a weird glance, it's the UK version.
