Tanker

Post by Pierkemimi »

A few days ago I bought cheap a tanker never seen.
It can be home made but very well done. On the sides there are decals, on the back a label.

The labels are privately applied but irrespective of that the model is in excellent overall condition and a great find, well done.

Did it leave the factory with no labels, hence the later additions?

I would like a base shot please especially the rivets. I inadvertently bought a code 3 Aral Tanker a few years ago (under the influence of drink truth be told) so it would be interesting to establish if the body colour is genuine or a repaint like my drunk purchase turned out to be!!

The base is ok, not tempered with it. Have tried to post a picture but photobucket is not working correct. Will try again tomorrow.
My guess that only the label on the back side is added.

Aren't the labels on the side normally the end of the tanker labels.
The label on the back of this tanker looks like the door label of the king size tanker.
They could have run out of the normal side labels so used what ever was available to finish the run.

Never thought about it, but for me very possible. It's the same size but not the same label.
Maybey they made additional decals to complete the run with a twist. Otherwise very well done.
