Jim Walden (oldfart)

Post by charliep »

Just received the sad news that Jim Walden passed away earlier this month (Feb 10). His last posting was on this board on the evening of February 9th (Feb 10th UK time).
Needless to say, I am in shock as I was getting to know him and enjoyed corresponding with him discussing matchbox collecting most specifically the Kingsize models.
My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

oh no..that is so sad to hear...RIP Jim (oldfart)...such a nice guy to talk with
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Very sad news. I always enjoyed Jim's posts, it seems like only yesterday he was showing us his fabulous new display cabinet that he'd finished. My thoughts are with Jim's family. RIP Jim

Very sorry to hear this news, my thoughts go out to his family.

The old guard is losing members at an alarming rate. Not only in the collector community, but my friends are also passing all too frequently these days.

It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

I see that Jim gave part of his website over to his collection. Have a look!
