23a the 1st; casting

Post by kerbside »

I have lost count of the times I have turned this model over looking for the 1st; casting. At last I have found it after many years of searching (hurrah) another off the list of wants and they come very few times my way.

Nick has already put it on his variation site.

Hi George,
This version I have found is not that common(for me anyway), very nice model to find and a great addition.
I do have one for sale on my website but in playworn condition. J

Hello J, I know you have one for sale and I nearly bought it from you then I saw this one and as this one did not have
a broken towing hitch and this one was mint I had to pass up on yours, (sorry) ;)

But the 1st casting is very hard to find in all my years of collecting yours and this one are the only two I have ever seen.

Congratulations George. Nice find. From the base shot the model looks to be in great condition so it must have been even more challenging to find one so clean as well.

Very nice find George, if you can still fill gaps it gives us all hope.

Well done George. When we find such models in the wilderness and finally add them to our collections, it really makes all the Years of searching and hard work worthwhile and puts a great feeling of achievement inside us. I am very pleased for you.

I guess i'm one of the lucky ones, I checked my trailer and have a mint in box first casting, no axle braces! :D
VBD HAS BEEN UNABLE TO CONFIRM THE AUTHENTICITY OF ANY MODELS PICTURED IN POSTS BY TAXIDAD. THEREFORE, THE FACT THAT A PARTICULAR VARIATION IS DEPICTED DOES NOT PROVE THAT IT WAS EVER MANUFACTURED BY LESNEY, NO MATTER HOW AUTHENTIC IT MAY APPEAR.
