Went to a large local antique fair. 200 booths not many Matchbox but I did find this at a great price. Models absolutely brand new. Box is pretty good too.

Certainly looks to be a good set. Are you going to show us the models separately, pretty please... :D

Interesting that all the drawings of models on the sleeve are excellent with the exception of the Y10a Mercedes, which looks appalling!

I think the numbers in mmi's post refer to the 'Y' numbers used by Lesney for each model so...
Y1, the Alchin traction engine is version 8.
Y2, the 'B' Type London Bus Bus is version 21.
Y5, the Bentley is version 7.
Y13, the Santa Fe Loco is version 4.
Y10, Missing from the set.

Version numbers are those shown in so called 'White Books', reference books detailing the various recorded variations of the 'Yesteryear' models.

yes used white book.... goes with 30 page list so far ....have 10-12 boxs from Andrew and Jason waiting for in depth inspection numbering ,maybe in another 5 years..... 300 or so in front of closet

it was 3 I needed I think...(just found another box full some MICA and 4th black seat daimler)
Y 1 full red wheels
Y2 with black wheels
Y5
expected to be $$$ but no merc and 2/3 box only 3 bids....
should they be in that box (time wise)or is it a later mix?

With version 21 of the London Bus in the set, this appears to be the only original model which came in the box. G-6 (the first Gift Set of 'Yesteryears' issued), was introduced during 1961, so the other lower version models may be replacements as they seem to be of earlier issue.
