won an auction for the regular wheel model without the turntable ribs for an affordable price...it has no turntable ribs and what looks like a silver controller...i came looking at where this model fell in the line of models and saw the silver controller has the turntable ribs...in the pics on the auction the silver controller looks to be an even silver and not worn or faded gold but until its in hand i wont be steadfast in my opinion thats the controller is silver...once i receive it ill update the details

I received this as a gift from my wife last night. It came out of a collection from Maryland. I did not see this among Charlie's pics so thought I would post it.

i received my model yesterday and i looked over it along with the pics provided by charlie...this doesnt match any of his early ones

details are

dark red body/gloss blk base/silver bumper/no tow guide/ladder not strengthened/no turntable ribs/KFB cutout decal/silver controller/no cast for door decal/gry hydraulic slv.(r)

i have checked my other two models...both are later releases...the silver controller looks the same color all over...the rivet under the turntable looks silver...the recesses and dials do not have any gold as with wear the deep spots should have gold coloring right...this does not

i also noticed...im not sure what its called but i guess its a stop so the ladder when upright doesnt go past a certain point...they are different sizes...the one i just received is small and the ladder goes more vertical than the ones with the bigger stop

i guess the time has come to get a new picture host....so i can take some photos and post them...ill do that later

so i did it...got a new host...but first...again i dont know what the term is but the stop (what im calling it) the big size is .25mm and the smaller one is 19mm

here is the pic comparing the two

Image

here you can see how the ladder with the small stop is more vertical than the one with the bigger stop

Image

here are the pics of the model...like i said the silver controller looks silver over all the piece and no gold coloring that remains in the recess areas that someone touching it could wear

Image

no turntable ribs and the silver controller

Image

Image

here you can see the overall silverness and in the recessed areas its silver

There was a brief discussion in the Yesteryear forum that many Yesteryear of the same era had components that should have been brass plated that were left unplated, making them appear silver in color. Your Merryweather would probably be considered a reverse variation. Although it is a good one. I've never seen one before.
