…… and he said, "Just you wait and see."

I was down our local market last Sunday and saw this on a stall. My first thought was "I can do something with that."
Being a terrible hoarder (miser) I decided to only use what I had in my garage.

So removed the Battery Zone header and cleaned it up.

Then made a new header.

Tidied up the supports and cut some plastic shelving to size.

Fitted the rest of the shelving.

Then decided to remove the side advertising to give a clean look.

To accommodate the boxes I thought it would be a good idea to use clear plastic tubing - big mistake (more later) but you may be able to guess what happened!

Started loading the boxes and models - this is where it got interesting. Flat box on round shape - doesn't work very well but I persevered (stubborn male syndrome).

Frustrating hour with boxes falling off circular tubing - but I persevered (this was the mistake). Also not able to load all the boxes onto display - worked that out about half way along but thought somehow it would magically all come right :D .

Time for a cup of tea ………… and a trip to the garage to see what I had in there.

Found some more plastic shelving pieces that I was able to cut to put on the circular tubing - much better result. Also refigured the bottom shelves to create more shelves.

Final display - D1 & D2 Series of boxes - (4 missing but hopefully will get there).

Just saw the first picture and thought the shelf would be perfect for blistercards.
But what a nice D-Box collection, the D-Boxes are my favorite box types in the RW range. I really miss a lot of D-Boxes in my own collection.
Great transformation Rodger

Wow, that's a really really cool way of displaying models and boxes!!!
Well, certainly makes me think about dust cleaning though...

I like it Rodger, you've done a good job there. It has a great retro look to it.

Thanks for the kind comments.
I've got file cabinet drawers full of models that never come out to play so the aim was to get them out and appreciate them.

I was going to recreate a Matchbox display header and I thought there was someone on the forum who had an archive of different headers. After searching 45 forum pages and trying on-line I decided it would be easier just to create my own. With the template I can then create A box, B box, King Size, etc headers and keep the display renewed with different models.

Just about to have a look on eBay to see if I can fill the missing gaps: 55A DUKW, 58A BEA Coach, 66A Citroen DS., 47A Trojan Tea Van, 53A Aston Martin, 33A Ford Zodiac Sedan, 71A Army Water Truck , 62A Military Lorry, 56A London Trolley Bus & 18C Caterpillar Bulldozer (may have to do this in reverse order :D )
