A while back, someone posted photos of a Y9 Fowler Showman's Engine that was dismantled and all the parts were on display in a shadow box frame. If anyone saved the photos from that post I would love to see them again.

I think that someone was probably me, and it was an unassembled Showman's which appeared to have been posted from Lesney to..someone.

Near (but not at) the end of the life of the model. A further change was made to the bottom of the fire box (T shaped rather than square). Also using canopy labels from the previous light maroon issues. Replaced in '68 by the Simplex. Wonder why it was dispatched in kit form.

I'm pretty sure that's the model I was thinking of.

After giving it some thought, this is the model I was thinking of. I confused it with a YY I had seen in Jim G's collection and that's the one that was dismantled and in the shadow box. I don't remember the actual model in Jim's collection, though but pretty sure it was a different model. My confusion was likely caused by my thoughts that this Showman's Engine would look good displayed in a shadow box frame.

I'm going to experiment and dismantle a Y9, then neatly put all the pieces into a shadow box picture frame.
