Just for info as discussed I have tried to show pictures of the added brace. Very difficult to see on the model when assembled. J

Quite a substantial brace, can't imagine the body was prone to bending just there or the baseplate flexing a lot, so wonder why it exists?

Ghosthunter.

I think it maybe supports the axle strips or the base or both. J

Great info Jason, thanks for pointing this out, my one without the "Super" doesn't have this brace. I've got a handful of others all with it and it's very difficult to see but the brace sits behind the axle. It also seems that the baseplates are all very firm without actually resting on the brace. Are yours the same? At the moment I can't quite see what the brace is doing.

Maybe this area was weak in between the 2 cut outs so they added the brace, as you say it does not seem to go upto the base for support or the axle strip. I have noticed previous that the front wings are also a little thicker on the later models. Maybe they had a few issues in these thin areas.

That sounds very plausible, perhaps when the brace was designed it was over-engineered a little.
