Hi,
Ive got a few comics(mickey maus/fix und foxi/felix)early 70,s with full page A4 size
Matchbox adverts in them.
Would you cut them out or leave them complete :?: .
Im in 2 minds at the moment,
your thoughts would be appreciated.
Gary.

I think it depends on the value of the comics to be honest. If they are of no value then cutting out the advert would be of no consequence.

I would look at a few comic websites, some of which will have a forum similar to ours to gauge wether the comics you have need to be kept intact.

I have the same problem with aprox 100 complete comics with only 1 Matchbox add.
I have a lot loose adds also as those came that way.

I doubt the low value for the comix! I would do scans and leave the comix as the are!

I would leave the comics as they are - puts the ads in context of time and intended audience.
I always thumb through any old comics/magazines at markets looking for Matchbox ads.
They can usually be picked up, like yours, very cheaply.

In 10 years time you could look back and think "Well, that was a good decision" rather than "Wish I hadn't done that".

A framed up page from the comic would have a lot more interest to a collector than just the advert itself.
