K16B Petrol Tanker Issued 1974 All England casting.
Cab baseplate: 3 types of base cast:
1. area flat between the rivets.
2. raised area between the rivets.
3. raised area between the rivets with K-115
Cab exhaust stacks: could be found long (early type) or short I have them listed as "ls" or "ss" for long stacks or short stacks.
Cab axle covers: black, red, lt orange, orange, or gold (found also reversed)
Cab radiator grill: black or yellow
Windshield: clear, lt green, green, dk green.
Hood latches can be either chrome or black
Fifth wheel two types: a.without raised area
b. with raised area (stopper).
Fifth wheel can be found in white, yellow, black, blue or gray.

Trailer base - 2 types
Type1: K16 Articulated Tanker/large trailer to cab connecting pin
Type2: K16 Articulated K115 Tanker/small trailer to cab connecting pin
Trailer axle cover: lt gold, gold, dk gold, lt brown, brown, dk brown, black, tan, orange or yellow
Trailer axle cover can be found as closed type (rectangular) or open.
Trailer walkway (catwalk) : chrome, black or red
Plastic cover of dolly wheel assembly: yellow, black or orange
Front plastic platform: red, dark red or black
Hoses: white, opaque, yellow or black
Nozzles: white or yellow

Chemco: All have type B fifth wheels, white radiator covers & short stacks. Tanker catwalk in chrome & bases are all Type B w/black closed axle covers.

This Truck and trailer combo is a good example of how colours can make or brake a toy or model. Overall it is great, as a Kid petrol tankers have a certain magic and danger about them (even in a Kid's mind the transportation of fuel is risky, programmes like 'Thunderbirds' has seen to that!), and they still hold a certain affection for me but that 'CHEMCO' version looks so much better in my Eyes than the others and I would love to have been driving one of those along the edge of a tatty carpet at speed trying to get to the garage before they totally run out of petrol!

Very true.

The Chemco tractor would have looked great with a silver-grey base. The Wheels on the Chemco trucks are the best out of that series. Too bad the others have those awful generic speed wheels on them.

My fave in the lot the the TOTAL logo with the red base on the tractor and trailer.
