I am sorry to report that John Hanchet has passed away. John produced a regular wheel box booklet a few years ago with colour photos and a grid showing all the then known regular wheel box variations. He had an exceptional knowledge of regular wheels and the associated boxes.
John had many Matchbox friends in Germany and in England where he divided his time. He had a unique profession in that he constructed medieval musical instruments from scratch. He will be missed.

My condolences to family and friends. The day is soon coming when all the old greats of the hobby have passed. It will be a sad time for collectors when there's no one who remembers buying the models from retailers and the joy of seeing all the displays in the stores.
