Blasted Germans

Post by tjlglass »

I sold two items to a German bidder who has put I a claim before the item is even due to arrive in Germany via ebays own calculator ? The said items were posted on time and currently in transit, meanwhile there is a hold on my PayPal account wtf are eBay playing at allowing this ? Lucky enough item is fully insured and international signed for. So I go to respond to the case clicking the button that takes me into the German eBay site, again wtf is all that about and how am I suppose to understand that ? I sold the items on .co.uk for goodness sake, and no rant is not over as I'm still fuming.

You can phone ebay and they will translate the information and help you out. I know it's a hassle to have to phone them, but it's the easiest way to resolve the issue.

Living there i found they have not much time for waiting and they hate to haggle on price and all there swap meets are over priced and there dealers as well.

Ebay is becoming a no no for selling these days.I have noticed recently they are pushing there Gumtree site more and more.

With respect I shouldn't have to phone anyone or waste my time with pratts, I thought eBay had automated systems to deal with this as I know in the past when I've had problems and click buttons, I'm told that I can't open a case until a said date, so again wtf.

Do you have any recommendations on a site for selling, then? The monster (eBay/Paypal) seriously scares me.

Ebay has ruined itself now. They have tried to be a site for selling bulk new items only and are not interested in the small sellers who made them big anymore. I have stuff to sell but am loathe to use Ebay anymore. The price of shipping from Oz with all the tracking and crap makes it almost non viable. Gumtree is free but little coverage and again Ebay owned like Paypal which they promote highly on TV here (must get more money in fees from it than Ebay itself) - it needs a new site geared up to small sellers. The various POs round the world lost snail mail so are bumping up prices on parcels so eventually they will lose out as well.
I just bought a SF Rover 3500 from UK Ebay as a gift for someone - Int signed for shipping GBP12.95 -wtf !!!

Many sites have tried but failed in a miserable way.Ebay is just so well known so the answer is no sorry to say.

Nick is working on an auction section for this website, and I see elsewhere that he says he hopes to have it running sometime tomorrow. Hopefully this will prove to be the answer to everyone's prayers!

All sorted now and buyer say's he done it by mistake, still begs the question why eBay allow it after only 3 days ?
