"Charliep" Your VALUABLE information and collection of King Size models has to be unmatched by any other collector in this field! I am simply amazed and in awe! Everyday I look forward to your next post so that I can continue making a variation list for my records. Thank you so much. I hope that when you finish the Super Kings you can show us more of the 1-24 King Size Models of the of the pre 1970 era.

Thank you for the kind words and glad to hear that you find the postings interesting. I realize not too many collect them but it is an area of the matchbox world that is usually ignored so collecting them and finding variations make it that much exciting. It's like navigating in uncharted waters so to speak, with very few written material to refer to, and no telling what the next variation is going to look like (old UK club magazines are a good source for variation information).
It takes a lot of effort and if/when time permits I will try to continue the listings. There are some with too many variations that will take me days to finish properly. The older kings require more time as they tend to have more minor cast variations. I have a lot of them including boxes that are stored away. It certainly keeps me busy.

I agree with the comments about the lack of reference material for these models. I am glad Charlie has chosen this forum to showcase his collection, the thought of all those models going elsewhere to another forum...well, just don't think about it...

Thanks for your reply. I bought a few Battle King models at a fair last weekend and the Dodge Military Ambulance was with them. They then went into a box which I just tried to locate but unfortunalely didn't find. Haven't got the time at the moment to keep looking but certainly next week I should be able to put my hand on the model. As soon as I can I will post a pic.

Some interesting variations to look out for, here is the first production with side detail in brown. The PP models you show Charlie are very nice, I do have the white one with Blue interior but would love the one with blue side detail.
