Top 100 Rarest Matchbox List

Post by hydra427 »

A few years ago, I remember seeing a list of the rarest Matchbox cars in the Matchbox club. I still have that list but wonder if anyone has made an updated list reflecting the current market. I found several models on the list that I think need removed and others that need added or just moved around on the list. Any thoughts? Do we want to create our own list? I can scan a copy of the list if anyone wants it. I have added the list as I found it several years ago. I am not sure who put this list together but it was originally associated with the Matchbox Club. I am not sure how it was compiled. What are some of your thoughts. I have this as a pdf also if anyone wants it that way.

Yes John, please do scan and post. Just be careful with any copyright on it and give credit to it's source if you can, thank's.

Thank's John. Can you mention the source of this listing, who was responsible for it and who voted for the models.

This list was compiled from votes submitted by MICA members as far as I can remember. It's a fair way off reality (regarding YY's) in my opinion.

Thank's Bob.

If its MICA, it may well be quite old then.

I think we had quite a long discussion about this list on Lefora some years ago, unfortunately I can't seem to get searches working on there to check it out.

A lot of misplaced YY in my opinion as well. It's just a list after all. I get a kick out of seeing the turquoise Hillman so high on the list. How about the prime mover so low on the list. I might start working on a new list just for regular wheels based on value, rarity, etc. Could be a fun project.
