Steve.... that looks like a very old photo of one of my tables (from years ago!)...
I recognise a number of items on it but mostly the tags on the 1-75s and the Blue promotional truck to the rear.... and I'll be there as usual to support the Manawatu boys.

See you there on Sunday Steve and Ian - looking forward to it. I hope it is as successful as last year's fair which was excellent. Well worth the journey for all you collectors in the Southern half of the North Island.

Cheers,
Gavin

Good swapmeet at Palmerston North on Sunday... I picked up three items (actually I intended to buy nothing but the table next to me has some very nice pieces and I couldn't resist the Kembo (?), the Chad Valley pickup with working motor (key is not original but works))... forget what the third piece is! Had to sneak them home in my work bag so the wife wouldn't spot them  tonight I will take a closer look at them when she's busy with our daughter's 18th birthday celebrations.

On the sales front I had my best day for a couple of years... there was a steady stream of folks coming through and I made several multiple purchase deals with reasonable discounts for buying in bulk.. most of my Dinky stuff went quickly as did some of the early 1-75 series and a few bits of the O gauge Hornby tinplate items.

No photos yet of my purchases but Steve MIGHT have taken some newer photos of the swapmeet than those he originally posted in this thread.

What has it come to when grown Men have to sneak toy cars past their Wives in rucksacks and tightly held carrier bags and hide in darkened rooms or their dens, looking at these toys like they were pieces of Gold found out on the street...

Ghosty.

Fixer, the magazine is from 2006.

Ghosthunter, not sure what Ian is going on about here as his charming wife was at the swap meet and behind his table and helping to make the sales in between knitting and watching over things while Ian went walk about!
No doubt buying all the good stuff for sale. Ian was the third thing the shoe box of beat up yesteryears. I'm still waiting for my commission!

Here are some of the photo's I took.

Here are some photo's of what was on offer.
This first table had a great variety of Matchbox items for sale. He must be a dedicated collector!!!!

No I didn't count them as I only bought them because he didn't want to take them home again... the third item was a Crescent Jaguar saloon in green. And just to clear things up I was under strict instructions from "she who must be obeyed" NOT to buy anything!

And here's a blow up from Steve's second photo of Me and the Missus..... I've clearly just made a sale as I'm taking the ID tag off a model.

I thought I could see Ian in one of those photos...

Run of the mill stuff lol. You photographed my table after all the good stuff had already been sold!

It was a very good day for me - lots of sales and I even beat Steve to something nice off Ian's table. Not much RW though, so most of my purchases were SF - a couple of nice variations - and non-Matchbox including a couple of very nice Husky toys and some interesting Tomicas.

Cheers,
Gavin
