The NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition) notes that the GPW can be either light or dark grey.. In addition, whilst all other variations are listed as yellow, the BPW variant can be either yellow (variation 24-2C) or dark yellow-orange (variation 24-2D). If confirmed, and if considered distinctive enough, the orange-yellow BPW version would slot into Nick's table either as a new variation code 7 or a new variation code 8, depending on the 'body line and rivets' casting.
None of the AIM's “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), Stannard or Houghton have any models not already catalogued by Nick, although AIM confirms the existence of light and dark GPW.
Leake ("Concise Catalogue of 75 Series Matchbox Toys by Lesney" (4th edition, reprinted 2006)) notes that there are shades of yellow to be found on this model.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.

One generally unlisted variation (although I think it is on Nick's site) is the Fine Tread GPW to the front wheels:

Love the quality of the paint job on the right Gavin, a nice rich colour with a generous coating of paint. The rivet and body line detail show nicely on this photo…..great pic.

One variant not mentioned by Stannard and Nick is the unpainted shovel arm pivot pin. It only applies to the GPW models.
Houghton does not list it either but he does show a crimped axle model pictured that has the unpainted shovel pivot pin.
I feel this should be added to the variation table even if just a descriptive note.

I have only considered the lack of rivets or part missing body line to be die wear, currently listed on bpw. However it also appears on gpw models, I have this with DR GPW and would currently fit between Nick’s code 3 and 4 as a new variation.

In an attempt to answer the question of colours/shades with the BPW version here is are comparison pics where three colours/shades are evident especially in the hand. My current codes (Nick) are shown on pic 2 and 3.

Hello Antonin,
Thanks for adding the images of the unpainted pivot pin models. I especially like the DC pivot pin version, always thought this might exist. It makes sense also that the shovel at this point was painted separate to the body and we end up with different colour shovel and body on these unpainted pivot pin variations.
