Gerrit ("Ecclesley"), has not posted since June 20th, so I am a little concerned for his well being. We became quite good friends through our hobby and the forums we both contribute to.

I know he has a health isue but it was being manged with medication.

I do hope he is OK and if you are reading this Gerrit, please do let us know you are alright or update me on your progress connected to your last attack.

Ghosthunter you will have to excuse my memory but I know between a few forums I visit there is crossover with some members. I don't remember who is who anymore though. I am either Tick or Shane depending on which forum you may visit. I am, pretty sure you are one who I have chatted back and forth with about memberships elsewhere. Anyways on another site where you may visit (Planet Diecast) Ghosthunter posted a recent update.

Hi Shane.

Yes, I am "Ghosthunter" here and 'Rollerman" over there. In view of the posting by Gerrit on 'Planet diecast', I will say that I know the reasons behind his leaving that forum but would not want to say them here, it is not important because it only concerns 'Planet diecast'.

I was waiting for Gerrit to post here his intensions with this forum before giving my update posting about him, but so far he has not been in touch, so will hold off a little longer, but what he says in that post on 'PD' gives essence to his actions.

Thanks Ghost, I knew it was you but I second guessed myself (as I always do with my ever increasing memory loss these days :D ) and could not find the thread where that revelations was discovered to confirm.

Anyways, I hope I did not mention something from PD that should not have been posted here :o

Regardless, I have enjoyed his posts in the past but I guess what is important is that he is making himself happy.

Gerrit forewarned me of his intentions regards the number of forums he will be contributing to and that he is changing the direction of his collecting habbits, I.E. going for quality rather than quantity.

His personal affairs I will withold here, but they were an important issue that would affect his imediate lifestyle which involved moving to a new property and having to sell his beloved real Rolls-Royce car.

I hope he does pay us a visit just to confirm if he is to remain a member here on the VBD forum.

Let me start this reply by assuring you that I am quite OK.
As far as I recall, I did not say goodbye to VBD.
Recently I left the other forum on which I was active and productive for some three years.
The true reason for that is not important here.

January last I made a significant decision to move house. I am now living in Amsterdam at the same address as my girlfriend, albeit in a separate living space.
She owns a double apartment, the other half has now been taken over by me.
Having been uninhabited for some 30 years, that space needed a complete internal overhaul. Walls, floors, ceiling, doors and kitchen, it has all been renovated, which was a major operation. Externally new window frames have been installed with proper double glazing.
It is 99,5 % finished now and I can say that I am very happy with my new living quarters. More compact than my own previous apartment, but that is no problem.
So (after 14 years) we are living together now but we still enjoy our own personal "environment".
Wednesday last the removal van transported my personal belongings which have all been installed, minus a few last details which I will tackle this week.
After a very busy and pressured period I am gradually returning to a "normal" life, instead of running around and commuting between two places. Phew.

Less space forced me to reconsider my collecting hobby and yes I will go for quality in smaller numbers, in stead of collecting too much of everything.
The main subject still Rolls Royce. There is a dedicated RR/Bentley model car forum which I will visit more often that I used to do.
A certain part of my collection will be sold off over time.

Regarding my 1:1 Rolls Royce. After taking it out after a three months hibernation in March last, I was confronted with a major (expensive) technical issue which made me
decide to sell the car as I had no confidence in it anymore. It has been repaired, and I still own and drive it. To be honest it runs better than it ever did before. So in the mean time, I was too busy anyway, I postponed my decision until: I don't know.

You will hear from me from time to time.
