E.R.F. stake truck with a spare wheel???

Dear fellow-collectors,

I was reorganizing some of my regular wheel-models and I stumbled upon this model (that was in my collection eversince I started collecting some three years ago).
I was taking new pictures of one of my stake trucks and suddenly I saw that there was a spare wheel behind the cab.....
Of course the next thing I did was checking out this forum (and the 1-75 model guide) and I found out that this could be a pre-production model.
Can someone perhaps tell me if this is the real deal or not?

Thanks.

L-esney.

It is not a pre-production. However, although it came from the factory that way, it is not a deliberate variation.
It is thought that the wheels and bodies were originally tumbled together (in order to remove flash and sprue) and, on occasion, this resulted in wheels becoming jammed between the rear of the cab and the backboard. These were then 'glued' in place by the paint.
It is an extremely htf piece, and a long thread on it can be found here.

Hello L-esney here is the same model showing where that wheel was, but who ever had it before me removed the wheel.

As you can see the place where the wheel was is not painted, but I wish that he had not removed the wheel.

That's still kind of cool though George.

This is cool. I saw one years ago in a collection and have been looking for one for myself ever since. I love these errors. Nice find.
