Hello mike, GHOSTHUNTER here, it seems you have drawn a blank so far on your little truck, but is it little! can you place it next to a model we reconise, like a normal Lesney regular wheel car.

We need to know roughly how long it it is and how heavy it is, it looks like it is made from a very solid metal and could be quite heavy, if it is as big as it appears in the photos.

Initial impressions say it is based on an early 'TOOTSIETOYS' Mack truck, (suggesting it comes from America) but without a full cab section.
Without any 'Brand' names or logos, its likely to have been made by a novelty company rather than a toy or model company.
The lack of fine detail may be...A, it is very old and if copied on a TOOTSIETOY' puts in the late 20's to early 30's, or...B, it is a very cheap novelty toy, made with no regard for detail or accuracy, but still quite old.

If we can have a few more pictures to get a better idea of its size, it may trigger something in a members memory and identify it further.

Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Hi Ghosty. :D
Thank you for your interest.
The model has almost the same size of a matchbox car.
But has a larger weight. (51 grams)

Thank's mike for the extra photos.

Very intereting, to make something this small in such a solid material is puzzling, but the small size does now account for the lack of detail, it would not be appreciated by the intended owner and clearly designed by someone from the complete opposite end of the engineering scale, to the Lesney engineers and to a lower budget!

I have noticed something on the inside of a front wheel, highlighted in a detail part of your picture, is this a name of some sort or just bad engineering, or even just dirt!!!

Lets see what other members can now make of it, I have at least started the ball rolling for you,

Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Hi Ghosty.
I examined all the wheels very well.
Unfortunately, no sign of an inscription.

Hello mike, that's OK, thanks for checking the front wheel.

His text in order=
PRE...I imagine he means to say that the little lorry is of 'PRE WAR' MANUFACTURE, I.E. BEFORE 1939.
MILITARY ARMY...Yes that fits quite well with the look of the vehicle, a truck used during the war, but his earlier 'PRE' text means its not based on a truck used during the second World War and the style of the front is far too late to be based on a vehicle in use before the first World War.
CHARBENS...A British toy and model manufacture, who have made similar toys to the truck he was selling.
JOHILLCO...Same type of company as Charbens, with similar toys of this size and design.
CRESCENT...Same as above, similar toys and designs.

That's what he thought the little truck resembles, but not necessarily made by any of those companies.

And so we move on.

Thank's for the extra info Mike, I'll be working on this one for a while,
Regards,
Ghosty.

NO, thank you, for your enthusiasm and bringing some Austrian fun to the forum.

I enjoy reading your posts, written in the Austro-English that you use...English is so... dull !

So, until next time, Mike & Nico, take care,
