I have one of this series with its blister card, branded Midnight for Zodiac Toys. They may well have been branded under different names for other retailers.

A total of 6 items are shown on the back of the card:

The Volvo estate looks clearly "inspired" by the Majorette. Having the windscreen wipers included in the body casting rather than the windscreen glazing is fairly unusual for diecast and is reminiscent of older white metal models.

Here's the VW Golf.

I am afraid you won't find a lot under that name Ian, however, the company originally responsible for these is 'SUMMER' and I have been looking for my Summer model listing without success, but the BMW is catalogued as number S 690 and their VOLVO is number S 691.

'SUMMER' are or were big enough to supply toy cars to various companies for re-marketing and you can find them being blister packed for different retail toy stores.

'ZODIAC' were a chain of toy stores similar to the old 'BEATIES' and the UK importer of the Summer toys would do deals with these Guys to have Summer toys packaged in Zodiac branding.

A similar deal can be seen with 'LLEDO' models repackaged as Tesco Auto Club models.

Thanks Ghosty, I hadn't realised these were made by Summer. I usually associate Summer with cruder toys, although they made a range of fire engines which included quite a nice little ERF (like a shrunken version of the Dinky). My example is missing its ladder, but a Lledo wheeled escape ladder fits perfectly!

I think the only other Summers I have are a couple of little Hong Kong buses, shown below next to a Matchbox DMS (the Londoner name didn't really catch on and I think Matchbox must have been about the only people who continued to use it!).

A striking livery variant!

I have seen examples of this Peugeot 604 model saying "Alme Cars" on the base:

For this reason I have regarded "Alme Cars" as the brand name, although I know nothing about that brand.

I had not associated this and the other models in the same range with Summer until now.
