With a model in such fantastic condition, one must ask why the decals/labels have gone missing...a repaint maybe, not sure, could be the reason though.

On the basis of many years of observations, I am firmly convinced that the earliest issues of this model were without decals. (In the late 1970s/early 1980s, I was told that the decals weren't ready when the model was due for issue, so the first run went out without them. However, the silver-trimmed examples I have seen, all have decals. Since we know that the trim was dropped very early on (c.f. 19c), these surely represent the very first issue. However, if that's true, why do they have decals when at least one subsequent issue doesn't?)
In this particular case, my guess would be that a premium was paid for the box which looks immaculate.

Hugh, here is a little bit of extra info on no decal-silver grille.
From reading a proposed variation table from Antonin of the 6b Euclid
here , he has his code 1 as NO decal but with mask spray silver grille.
Interestingly he does not show the decal version with mask silver spray as shown by Greg and George in the past for example. I wonder if Antonin’s elves have found one yet.
Antonin shows his code 2 as NO decal NO trim and with the quantity of these found over the years I do not feel this should be classed as an error model.
It is interesting that the photos of the above from hydra427 John do not have an angle showing the grille, it would be nice to know if plain or silver.
Note to admin and or Hydra427 John
Could I suggest that the title if the thread includes “6b Euclid” to assist collectors in future searches please.

How about the initial release as 'no decal, no trim', followed by 'with decal, with trim', and then 'with decal, no trim' as the third version (when they found that trim and a decal was too expensive)?

I think the early casting, yellow painted earlier type tipper pin and crimped axles on this one are quite uncommon (Stannard code 1).
